INTEREST

Coming from a cinephile myself, watching movies is one of my most done hobbies and my favorite interest of mine. So here is a list of some of my favorite movies in any genre without particular order:

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

I consider this movie one of the greatest of all time. The Shawshank Redemption encompasses friendships, hardships, hopes, and dreams. And what is so great about the movie is that it moves you, it gives you hope. Even though the circumstances between the characters and the viewers are quite different, you don't feel that far removed from what the characters are going through. It is a simple film, yet it has an everlasting message.

Little Women (2019)

This film is a work of great beauty, integrity, and relevance. I definitely recommend people to watch this movie, with family especially, as it beautifully portrays the familial bonds these four sisters share. How they accompany and support each other when their father is out for war, and manage to stay happy with the little they have. The sisters, each of them face their own hurdles and try to find solutions to them. It deals with sacrifices, jealousy, love, and compassion for each other which makes it a must-watch movie.

La la land (2016)

A charming movie that will leave you smiling in the end, La La land is a wonderfully scripted and beautifully shot film that it showed the reality of this world in just 2 hours. From how colorless our life is without love to why some loved ones cant unite. This movie is beautiful, not only does it capture the difficulties and challenges of love and relationships, it is designed and directed splendidly.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

ESOTSM is well written and acted. This movie is a must-watch if you enjoy deep movies with fantastic writing and want to challenge your conventional thinking. It’s such a heartbreaking and beautiful story. It’s a perfect cinematic masterpiece that symbolizes the beauty and inevitability of fate and how soul mates find their way back together even in impossible circumstances. Every time I watch this movie it impacts me on a deeper level than the last time.

Knives out (2019)

Clever and funny throughout, Knives Out is an enjoyable murder mystery, both fresh and classic at the same time. Strong points include beautiful art direction and a fabulous ensemble cast. Perfectly crafted engaging and entertaining thriller movie with fine drama elements. The movie goes with enough pace through its well-written screenplay and plot wist. This is the kind of movie you will never get tired of watching over and over again.

Clueless (1995)

One of my favorite classics. It's funny, witty, and so 90s but still manages to be relevant today. One word to describe it is iconic. No matter how many times I watch it, it still gives me the same feeling as the first time. The characters are amazing and I really loved the ending. One thing I especially love about this movie are the outfits as they were so memorable.

Shutter Island (2010)

Honestly the best movie I have ever watched in my whole life. It is the most brilliant, underrated, and intelligent work in the whole cinematographic industry. Martin Scorsese really DID NOT disappoint. Shutter Island is perfectly executed, every single detail is planned (which is why it is brilliant) and makes total sense when you arrive at the end. Talking about the ending, the twist will leave you speechless for days, and when you finally open your mouth you will only be asking questions and debating about this ending.
